-
The Holy Scriptures – We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the verbally inspired Word of God, the final authority for faith and life, inerrant in the original writings, infallible and God-breathed. (II Timothy 3:16-17, II Peter 1:20-21, Matthew 5:18, John 16:12-13)
-
The Holy Trinity – We believe in the one living and true God; both holy and loving, eternal, the Creator and Preserver of all things, unlimited in power, wisdom, and goodness. Within this unity there are three persons of one essential nature, power and eternity – The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4, II Corinthians 13:14)
-
The Father – We Believe The Father is the source of all that exists, whether of matter or spirit. With The Son and The Holy Spirit, He made man, male and female, in His image. By intention He relates to people as Father, thereby forever declaring His goodwill toward them. In love, He both seeks and receives penitent sinners. (Ps. 68:5, Isa. 64:8, Matt. 7:11, John 3:17, Rom. 8:15, I Peter 1:17)
-
The Son –
1. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became a man-without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, in order that he might reveal God and redeem sinful mankind.
2. We believe that He died on the cross for all mankind as a representative, vicarious, and substitutionary sacrifice for our sin. We believe in the sufficiency of this atoning sacrifice to accomplish the redemption and justification of all who trust in Him, and that it is assured by His literal and physical resurrection from the dead.
3. We believe that Jesus Christ ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where, as our high priest, He fulfills the ministry of representative, intercessor, and advocate.
-
The Holy Spirit –
1. We believe the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and judgment; and that He is the supernatural agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the Body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption.
2. We believe that He is the divine teacher who guides believers into all truth; and, that it is the privilege and duty of all the saved to be filled with the Spirit.
-
The Total Depravity of Man – We believe that man was created in the image of God, but that because of Adam’s sin, mankind inherited a sinful nature and became separated from God. As a result, mankind is totally depraved and utterly unable to remedy its lost condition. (Gen. 1:26-27, Rom. 3:22-23, 5:12, Eph. 2:1-3, 12)
-
Salvation – We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to mankind by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. (Eph. 2:8-10, John 1:12, Eph. 1:7, I Pet. 1:18-19)
-
Christian Life (Living Differently) –
-
We believe that all believers should live in such a manner as to not bring reproach upon Jesus Christ or His church. This involves separation from all religious apostasy, all worldly and sinful pleasures, practices, and associations as commanded by God’s Word. (II Tim. 3:1-5, Rom. 12:1-2, 14:13, John 2:15-17, II John 1:9-11, II Cor. 6:14-7:1)
-
We believe that sexual intimacy is a wonderful gift of God that is only to be expressed between one man and one woman (as genetically defined), within the love and bonds of marriage. Therefore, we believe that any other form of sexual intimacy is both immoral and a perversion of God’s gift. (Gen. 2:24-25, Matt. 19:4-6, I Cor. 7:3-5, Heb. 13:4, Lev. 18:1-30, Prov. 6:32, I Cor 6:18, Rom. 1:26-27, I Thes 4:3-8)
-
We believe in the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death and thus are opposed to the use of induced abortion and euthanasia. We believe that God is the creator of all life and that he created human beings in His image. Therefore, human life is sacred. We believe that before we are born God has a plan for our lives. We believe that death and destruction have always been Satan’s goal, whereas God calls us to choose life. (Gen. 1:27-28, Acts 17:26, Psalm 139:13-16, Jer. 29:11, Deut. 30:19)
-
The Church –
-
We believe that the church, which is the body and the bride of Christ, is a spiritual organism made up of all born-again persons. (Eph 1:22-23, 5:25-27, 1 Cor 12:12-14, 2 Cor 11:2)
-
We believe that the establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures. (Acts 14:27, 20:17, 20:28-32, 1 Timothy 3:1-13, Titus 1:5-11)
-
We believe that Jesus Christ is head of the church. Therefore, the local church is autonomous and free of any external authority or control. (Acts 13:1-4, 15:19-31, 20:28, Romans 16:1, 4, 1 Cor 3:9, 16, 5:4-7, 13, 1 Peter 5:1-4)
-
We believe the local church is to partake of the sacraments of believer’s baptism and the Lord’s supper, whereas these are ordinances given to us by Jesus Christ himself by word and example. (Matt. 28:19-20, Acts 2:41-42, 18:8, 1 Cor. 11:23-26)
-
The Second Advent of Jesus Christ –
We believe in the “Blessed Hope,” the personal, imminent, second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones, (living and dead); and in His subsequent return to earth, with His saints, to establish His millennial Kingdom.
-
The Eternal State –
-
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all mankind, the saved to eternal life and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment. (Matt 25:46, John 5:28-29, 11:25-26, Revelation 20:5-6, 12-13)
-
We believe that the souls of the redeemed are, at death, absent from the body and present with the Lord; where in conscious bliss they await the first resurrection, when spirit, soul, and body are reunited to be glorified forever with the Lord. (Luke 23:43, Rev 20:4-6, 2 Cor 5:8, Phil 1:23, 3:21, 1 Thes 4:16-17)
